MEMBERSHIP AND SUBSCRIPTIONS
Membership is open to anyone keeping bees or having an interest in the craft of beekeeping. Members of all categories, except Independent Members, shall be members of a branch.
Membership shall comprise:
Registered Members - for those who keep bees in their own right and wish to take a full part in all aspects of the DBKA. They shall pay an annual subscription.
Partner Member - for those who reside as a second member of the same household as a Registered Member. They shall pay an annual subscription comprising the BBKA Partner Member capitation fee, the BDI premium, plus 10% of the annual subscription for a Registered Member of the DBKA.
Associate Members - for those who are generally interest in the craft and wish to support the DBKA. They shall pay 10% of the DBKA Registered Member annual subscription.
Country Members - for those who wish to belong to a branch, but do not need insurance through the DBKA. They shall pay an annual subscription to be agreed at the AGM.
Independent Members - for those who wish to receive the Journal, but do not wish to join a branch. They shall pay an annual subscription to be agreed at the AGM.
Branch Social Members - for those who join late in the membership year but wish to take Beekeeping in the following year. They shal pay subscription agreed by the branch committee.
The Annual Subscription - for all members shall be payable in advance and cover the period from January 1st to December 31st of each year. The subscription shall be fixed for the ensuing year at the AGM. Any resolution to amend the subscription shall be notified to members at least 14 days prior to the AGM. Members shall not be entitled to the benefits of the DBKA until their subscription has been paid. Bee Disease Insurance (BDI) cover is subject to BDI regulations.
